How Screen Printing Works
Here is what actually happens when we screen print your order. We stretch a fine mesh screen over a frame, coat it with a light-sensitive emulsion, and burn your artwork into it. That creates a stencil. Then we lay your garment on the press, position the screen on top, and pull a squeegee loaded with ink across the mesh. The ink passes through the open areas of the stencil and lands right on the fabric. After that, we run the garment through a conveyor dryer at around 320 degrees to cure the ink permanently into the fibers.
That curing step is what separates screen printing from cheaper methods. The ink actually bonds with the fabric instead of just sitting on the surface. Your design will hold up through hundreds of washes without cracking, peeling, or fading. We have had customers bring back shirts from two or three years ago that still look sharp.
Inks, Industries, and Who We Work With
We use two main types of ink depending on the job. Plastisol is our go-to for most orders because it produces thick, vibrant colors that really stand out on dark fabrics like black or navy. If you want a softer feel where the print blends into the shirt, we can use water-based or discharge inks instead. Those soak into the cotton fibers and give you that “vintage” look without any raised texture.
Most of our screen printing work comes from local businesses here in Surrey and across Metro Vancouver. Restaurants ordering staff shirts, construction companies branding safety vests, schools printing spirit wear, sports leagues kitting out their teams, and event organizers who need 200 matching shirts by next Friday. If you need a consistent, professional look across a batch of garments, this is the method that makes the most sense.
Why Choose Screen Printing?
Built to Last
Our plastisol ink is cured at 320 degrees and bonds directly with the fabric. Expect your prints to survive hundreds of washes without cracking or fading.
Volume Savings
Screen printing gets cheaper per unit as your order grows. At 24 pieces you save noticeably, and at 100+ the per-shirt cost drops by nearly half.
Vibrant on Dark Fabrics
We use premium plastisol inks with a white under-base layer so your colors pop on black, navy, charcoal, or any dark garment.
Works on Almost Anything
T-shirts, hoodies, polo shirts, tote bags, safety vests, aprons, and jackets. If it is made of fabric, we can probably print on it.

Is This Right For You?
Screen printing is your best bet if any of these apply to your project:
- You need at least 12 items (24+ is the sweet spot for pricing)
- Your design uses 1 to 4 solid colors (not full-color photos or gradients)
- You want prints that survive daily wear and regular washing
- You are ordering matching shirts for a team, staff, or event
- You plan to reorder the same design again down the road
- You need a consistent look across sizes from Small to 5XL
Pricing Factors
Every screen printing quote is different because every project is different. Here are the four things that affect your final price:
Quantity
We have price breaks at 12, 24, 48, 72, and 100+ pieces. The more you order, the lower the per-shirt cost drops. A 100-piece order can cost nearly half per unit compared to a 12-piece run.
Color Count
Each ink color needs its own screen. A one-color logo on the front is the most affordable setup. Adding a second or third color raises the cost, but not by much once you are past the first screen.
Locations
Front only is the cheapest option. Adding a back print, sleeve print, or both increases setup and production time. Most customers go with front and back for the best visibility.
Garment Selection
A basic Gildan tee costs less than a premium Bella+Canvas or a heavyweight hoodie. We carry options at every price point.
